Former Seattle SuperSonics PF Shawn Kemp is hosting a Oklahoma City Thunder non-playoff party.

When a team bounces out of a city and establishes itself in another city, there will be some fans from the original town that are pissed about the situation. Fans love teams that are in their hometown and if they move into a new town, those fans jump ship and instead are filled with anger and resentment to that team. One of those fan bases resides in Seattle. There is a lot of hatred from the Seattle Supersonics fans toward the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Seattle SuperSonics moved out of the Emerald City in the 2008-2009 season and became the Oklahoma City Thunder. The ownership was unable to build a new arena in Seattle so they moved the franchise to OKC. Some believed that the ownership never really attempted to stay in Seattle and always had an exit strategy. The animosity is there from the Seattle fans.

One of the best players to put on a Sonics uniform was PF Shawn Kemp. He led the team to the NBA Finals, but was unable to beat Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls. He was crazy athletic and all the Sonics fans still love him to this day. He will always have a special place for the Seattle fans.

The Seattle fans will love him even more as he is hosting a Thunder non-playoff party. Seattle fans celebrate on any failures out of OKC and a few of the fans have adopted cheering on the Miami Heat because they were able to beat them in the NBA Finals. This is a celebration that the people in Seattle love.

The Oklahoma City Thunder were in a heated race for the playoffs at the end of the year. It was a struggle to go through a lot of the season without Kevin Durant on the floor, but Russell Westbrook did all that he could do in order to keep the team in contention. In the end, the Thunder were just not able to get the wins that they needed to get into the playoffs and the New Orleans Pelicans were able to take that final seed in the West.

When the Thunder gets healthy again, they will be in contention and the Seattle fans will be rooting hard against them. The Thunder have players like Durant and Westbrook on the roster, so they will be contenders in the West again and again and again. The Seattle fans hate everything about that.
