After becoming one of the best coaches in college football, Jim Harbaugh made the NFL jump in 2011 with the San Francisco 49ers, and quickly wore out his welcome.

San Francisco offensive lineman Alex Boone has been outspoken about head coach Jim Harbaugh who recently had a fall-out with the organization and took a position with the Michigan Wolverines. Boone had formerly been defending Harbaugh before dramatically changing his tune recently, calling out the head coach.

Harbaugh was the coach for San Francisco from 2011-14, winning a total of 44 games and losing just 19 while leading the 49ers to the playoffs in his first three seasons before going 8-8 and missing out last season.

Earlier in the season, October 2014 to be exact, Boone was quoted defending his head coach.

"“I’m really kind of sick of everybody talking about my coach, especially because he’s like a brother to me. So if I were everybody I’d just keep their mouth shut because they don’t want me coming after them. Especially Jay Glazer, Deion, all these guys. I’m kind of sick of it. Leave my coach alone.”"

He was quick to defend his then-head coach and tell reporters to get off his back because Harbaugh is like a brother to him.

Now, he’s not speaking nearly as highly of Harbaugh as he did just months ago. According to a recent interview with HBO’s Andrea Kremer for a feature on Real Sports, Boone was quoted saying things like Harbaugh might be “clinically insane” and that he wore out his welcome real fast with the 49ers.

"“He does a great job of giving you that spark, that initial boom. But after a while, you just want to kick his ass…. He just keeps pushing you, and you’re like, ‘Dude, we got over the mountain. Stop. Let go.’ He kind of wore out his welcome. I think he just pushed guys too far. He wanted too much, demanded too much, expected too much. You know, ‘We gotta go out and do this. We gotta go out and do this. We gotta go out and do this.’ And you’d be like, ‘This guy might be clinically insane. He’s crazy.’”"

It seems like Boone was thinking this all along and just said those other things in defense of Harbaugh because he felt like it had to be said.

There you have it, folks. Some NFL players think Jim Harbaugh might be clinically insane. I mean, he does have his crazy moments, but so does every intense NFL coach.
