Alabama Crimson Tide football coach Nick Saban is probably not the first guy you’d expect to hear the word “mojo” come out of his mouth, but it was that term he used Thursday when speaking to a group of Alabama boosters in Huntsville, Alabama on a caravan tour stop.

In reality, he said a bit more: “We need to get our mojo back…we need to regain our identity.”

More from College Football

Which leads a college football to wonder, what in the world is he talking about? His team went 12-2 a season ago, barely lost in the inaugural college football playoff in the Sugar Bowl to the eventual champion Ohio State Buckeyes, and had the best offense in program history (probably).

With all due respect, what are you talking about Coach Saban?

Stella had to get her groove back. Austin Powers had to get your favorite term, “mojo”, back. Your Alabama football program is fine. You have one of the best minds in offensive football in the 21st century leading that side of the football.

You are one of the finest defensive minds in football. And despite your sometimes petty and annoying whining on the sideline and over-intense demeanor on the practice field, you still get your student-athletes to perform at a higher level than any, or most, coach in the country.

So tell us some more about how you’ve lost your identity, how you need to get your “mojo” back. We’re waiting Mr. Saban.

Oh you can’t answer? Well of course you can’t; we’re not actually speaking to you right now, but a hypothetical version of you. So let’s play along for just a moment. Here are five reasons you, Coach Saban, will get your Alabama program back to its “identity” in 2015.
