The NHL Playoffs are starting to wrap up their first-round series, and the Wild vs. Blues showdown is looking like it could go a full seven games.

After Game 4, in which the Minnesota Wild gave up a total of six goals and allowed the series to be evened in front of a home crowd, the St. Louis Blues felt like they had regained control of the series. Through two period of hockey in Game 5, it still appeared as though St. Louis was controlling the series and just needed one lucky bounce to take a lead back to the Xcel Energy Center for Game 6.

Instead of getting lucky bounces, the Blues allowed three third period goals in a game that started as a 1-1 tight rope walk but ended in a 4-1 blowout. It’s not Minnesota who controls momentum of the series heading back to St. Paul and a friendly crowd for Game 6.

If Minnesota can win, they’ll move on to face the Chicago Blackhawks for the third straight year. Hopefully for them, things will be different the third time around. As for St. Louis, they need a win in Game 6 to send the series back to Missouri to put themselves in a position to take on they I-90 rivals in the Blackhawks.
