Auburn basketball coach Bruce Pearl is known more for his work on the hardwood, but he took his talents to the mic recently and lip synced Taylor Swift.

Bruce Pearl became famous as the Tennessee Volunteers‘ head basketball coach from 2005-11 as he led the program to 145 wins, two Sweet Sixteens and an Elite Eight. However, he was let go by the Volunteers and, three years later, became head coach of the Auburn Tigers.

While the Tigers aren’t quite known for their basketball, Pearl is trying to change that by bringing his winning ways to Auburn.

Pearl may be a great coach, but his lip syncing skills are not quite there yet as he and the head women’s soccer coach at Auburn, Karen Hoppa, faced off in an epic battle. The two were tasked with going head-to-head in a lip syncing contest and the winner would be chosen by the crowd.

For Pearl, who’s no stranger to embarrassing himself, this was the perfect opportunity to relate to the younger crowd — teenage girls to be exact — as the annual Auburn athletic banquet.

Chime in to around 2:51 for the Taylor Swift action.

The head coach made quite the fool of himself skipping around on stage in an awkward looking wig, but hey, that’s Bruce for you. He’s never afraid to make a mockery of himself for the enjoyment of others.

Pearl was just 15-20 in his first season with the Auburn Tigers on the hardwood and will look to bring this team to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2003.
