The Dallas Cowboys don’t need to address the running back position in the NFL Draft according to owner Jerry Jones.

Most prognosticators have the running back as a position of need for the Dallas Cowboys to address. It has since become a question of when the Cowboys would draft a running back, not if they draft a running back.

The Cowboys drafted DeMarco Murray in the third round of the NFL Draft and he lead the league in rushing in 2014, so there is that angle to it. The Cowboys could also be tempted by players like Todd Gurley and Melvin Gordon.

But according to Cowboys Jones the position isn’t urgent in the draft.

It doesn’t necessarily mean the Cowboys won’t address running back in the draft. Jones’ comments could mean that the Cowboys are thinking about trying to draft a running back in the later rounds in hopes of rekindling the same magic that they did with DeMarco Murray.

Perhaps they’d rather have Miami’s Duke Johnson instead of the Gurley or Gordon.

What about the other running back the Cowboys have been linked to, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson? Jones wouldn’t address it.
