The Baltimore Orioles ball girl seemed to find her job less enjoyable in an empty Camden Yards

Due to continued unrest in Baltimore, the Baltimore Orioles and Chicago White Sox played in a very empty Camden Yards on Wednesday. The situation may be one of the more unprecedented in modern baseball.

No doubt unnerved by the whole situation, some Orioles players decided to cope with this by pretending that there are fans at the game by signing fake autographs and throwing balls to imaginary fans.

While the players had a game to keep them busy for what turned out to be a ridiculously short game, clocking in at 2:02, the Orioles ball girls were not quite so busy.

One Orioles ball girl was caught looking lonely, bored, and displeased by the situation in Camden Yards. Normally the ball girls throw balls to fans and chat them up between innings. Without these things, the only options left are to look wistfully into the empty seats between innings and forlornly towards home plate during at bats.

Fortunately for the Orioles ball girl and their fans in general, the team was able to play like nobody’s watching and soundly defeated the White Sox 8-2. Hopefully this Orioles ball girl will have some fans to share some joy with next time.
