Following the Game 1 loss to the Chicago Bulls in the Eastern Conference Semi-finals, Kendrick Perkins went to twitter to express his support for Cleveland Cavaliers fans.

Kendrick Perkins sent out his encouragement to Cleveland Cavaliers fans on twitter following the team’s Game 1 loss to the Chicago Bulls. The Cavs appeared to be more hurt by the loss of Kevin Love and suspension of JR Smith than once thought as the Bulls cruised to a 99-92 victory. Perkins, while he did not get in the game, wasn’t afraid to come out and send a little love to Cavaliers fans out there.

“Stay with it” is a little weird for encouraging words after a loss. Especially when it is followed by six fist pump emojis that signify Perkins pumping up his fans. Maybe a better phrase could have been used like “hang in there” or “We’ll play better next time” would have been better suited.

I guess the latter phrase wouldn’t have made much sense because the big man didn’t enter the game in Game 1 and it doesn’t appear David Blatt is going to change his mind about Perk moving forward. He’s restricted mobility in the post and on defense is something that won’t fair too well against the Bulls with their big man duo in Pau Gasol and Joakim Noah.

Even though Perkins decided to use a poor choice of words to encourage Cavs fans, the message was felt. The Cavs need to pick themselves up if they plan on beating the Bulls, who proved to be too much for the short handed Cavs to handle. Good for you Perkins. Do what bench players do best and offer your words of encouragement to the best of your ability.
