Floyd Mayweather has defended his performance against Manny Pacquiao that most fight fans were disappointed with

The undefeated Floyd Mayweather is never short on confidence or brash comments. This trend continued as the boxer claimed that Manny Pacquiao is the only one to blame for a disappointing super-fight that cost $100 for every poor soul who bought it on Pay Per View on May 2, per Mike Coppinger of USA Today.

"“If people want to be upset, be upset with the guy that couldn’t set the trap for Floyd Mayweather. Be upset with the guy that used to throw 1,000 punches but then resorted to throwing 400 punches.”"

Boxing fans around the world were in a state of anticipation for what many believed would be the fight of the decade. As it turned out, it wasn’t even the fight of the month. This can be put down to the defensive masterclass shown by Floyd Mayweather throughout the fight.

"“It’s not my fault that I was able to alleviate anything that he was able to do. Whatever you best attribute is, I take it away from you — disarm you.”"

You have to agree with the cocky champion. He can’t be blamed for going out there and doing his job. A lot of people blamed Mayweather for the boring fight, but he did what he had to do to win the bout. The sport of boxing is not about going out and hammering your opponent. It’s a tactical and intricate contest, something Mayweather had no problem in pointing out to fight fans.

"“The name of the game is boxing, this is not called toe-to-toe battle. It’s called boxing. I’m the best at boxing.”"

It’s expected that the 38-year-old Mayweather will only have one more fight before he hangs up his gloves for good. If he can remain undefeated then his legacy will live on forever and few will be able to deny his claims of being the greatest of all time.

"“When we long gone and people get to talking about this fight or my career they’ll say ‘Floyd beat them all'”"

Most fans are hoping that Amir Khan will be Mayweather’s last opponent with many believing the Englishman is the only boxer who might stand a chance at causing an upset. When and if the fight does happen, let’s hope it’s more entertaining than the Mayweather/Pacquiao bout.
