The Tampa Bay Lightning evened up the score against the New York Rangers as Steven Stamkos fired one in the net.

Steven Stamkos had just three goals in the first 14 games of the postseason.

In the last three games, Stamkos has had three goals.

His latest came at an opportune time as the Lightning found themselves in an early deficit against the New York Rangers in Game 4.

Feeding off a beautiful back-handed pass by Alex Killorn, Stamkos fired a shot right past New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist.

Look at the way Stamkos torqued his body waiting for the big shot. He knew he was about to get served up something to beautiful to shoot, and he took advantage of the opportunity.

While Tyler Johnson has been the goal scoring phenom for the Lightning in the playoffs, if they’re going to advance to the Stanley Cup Finals, they are going to need their leader Stamkos to start lighting up the back of the net.

So far in this series, he has been and the Lightning hold the advantage. The New York Rangers thrive on coming back from series deficits, so Tampa Bay will have to put their foot on the throat if they are going to bury the Rangers season once and for all.
