The Atlanta Hawks will be without Kyle Korver for the remainder of their playoff run

The Atlanta Hawks were thoroughly handled by the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 2 of their Eastern Conference Finals series on Friday night, and on Saturday the news got a little worse. The team has learned that they will be without shooting guard Kyle Korver for the remainder of their playoff run, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Korver suffered the injury in the second half of the team’s 94-82 Game 2 loss on Friday night when he was rolled on by the Cavaliers’ Matthew Dellavedova as they were diving for a loose ball. Korver would limp off to the bench under his own power and head back to the locker room to get checked out.

While Korver hasn’t been playing his best basketball during these playoffs, especially in these first two games against the Cavaliers, the fact of the matter is that not having him on the court the remainder of the way, however long that may be, is a serious blow. In the 2015 NBA Playoffs, Korver has averaged just 11 points on 39 percent shooting, which again, is unlike how anyone thought he would be playing during this stretch.

In his absence, beginning with Game 3 of this series on Sunday night in Cleveland, the team will now look to Shelvin Mack and Kent Bazemore to provide some sort of spark for this team that, again, is getting manhandled by LeBron James and the Cavaliers.

That Sunday night Game 4 contest will begin at 8:30 PM ET.
