Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant will help recruit free agent forward LaMarcus Aldridge on Tuesday night.

When NBA free agency begins, it will be a mad dash of teams making their pitches to the most coveted names on the market. One of those is Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who has scheduled meetings with seven teams on top of the offer his team has already made.

The first team he will meet with are the Los Angeles Lakers, which doesn’t necessarily mean much in the grand scheme of things other than the fact that they get to go first. The Lakers will have Kobe Bryant present to make the pitch to Aldridge.

Bryant must be selling Aldridge on the history and heritage of the organization and a quick run at an NBA title before he retires. If Aldridge were to sign with the Lakers, Bryant would likely be there very briefly for his tenure with the organization.

Bryant will turn 37 later this summer and has just played 41 games over the last two seasons thanks to injuries.

It still makes more sense than some of the other tactics teams are reportedly using, like the Dallas Mavericks having Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant help sway free agents.
