Well, there will apparently be no drama in this free agency period as far as wondering if Kevin Love will be playing for a new team next season. That’s because on Wednesday, the first day free agency officially opened, Love announced via the Players’ Tribune that he’ll be returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

It appears that Love has agreed to a deal worth in the area of $110 million.

Love joined the Cavaliers prior to last season in a trade that sent the team’s No. 1 overall draft pick, Andrew Wiggins, to Minnesota. He went to Cleveland to complete the Big Three of he, LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. While he struggled to mesh with his Cleveland teammates at the beginning of the year, he was beginning to turn it on at the end of the season when the Cavaliers were making their push for an appearance in the NBA Finals.

Unfortunately for Love, he didn’t get to see time on the court in the NBA Finals, as he suffered a severe shoulder injury that ended his year in the series against the Boston Celtics. From there, the speculation began that we may not see Love in a Cavaliers uniform again. With teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers rumored to make a strong pitch for his services, it seemed plausible that he would only be spending a year with LeBron and the Cavaliers.

In his first season with the Cavaliers last season, Love averaged 16.4 points per game with 9,7 rebounds, and he shot 36 percent from three-point range.

Well, that will not be the case, because as he said in the announcement, he has some unfinished business in Cleveland.
