Utah Jazz guard Dante Exum had to be helped off the floor after injuring his left ankle in NBA Summer League play.

The Utah Jazz took Dante Exum with the fifth overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. As you might expect, the 19-year-old point guard figures to be a key part of this young Jazz team’s future as they look to build a contender in the Western Conference. However, the young point guard’s second season is already off to a rough start.

While playing with Jazz in their first Summer League game of the year, Exum had been performing wonderfully. In the waning minutes of the game, however, Exum drove down the lane and his ankle bent awkwardly. Just a heads up, this video isn’t for you if you have a weak stomach:

Exum was down on the court for a while after the injury and had to be helped to the locker room while he barely put pressure on that left ankle.

We don’t know the extent of the injury at this point, but what we saw in the game certainly doesn’t look good. For now, we can only hope for a speedy recovery for the young guard and that he doesn’t miss any of his sophomore season as a result.
