As Major League Baseball heads into the final week before the All-Star game, there are 11 games scheduled for tonight including the Cardinals and Cubs renewing their rivalry again and the Mets facing Chris Heston who no-hit them earlier this season.  If you’re looking to get your fantasy lineup together for the day, the top 10 batter vs pitcher matchups that you can find in this post are a great place to start.

There’s no slow start to this week, with a good number of options to choose from, and there are some hitters with very strong histories against their probable opposing pitcher today.  While success in the past doesn’t guarantee that a batter will contribute tonight, it definitely is a factor to consider.

In each daily batter vs pitcher post, I always try to include a variety of teams and positions  to help you fill as many slots on your roster as possible. Today, there is a good mix of potential sleepers as well as a few big names.

Let’s jump right into today’s top ten batter vs pitcher matchups to attack on this Monday.

10. Adam LaRoche-DH-Chicago White Sox: The White Sox are trying to climb out of last place before the All Star break while the Blue Jays are still in the hunt in the AL East. The White Sox will welcome back old friend Mark Buehrle tonight as he takes the mound for Toronto.  LaRoche is one of the White Sox with a good history against Buehrle going 6-16 (.375) in his career including a pair of doubles and a pair of home runs.

9. Ian Kinsler-2B-Detroit Tigers: Hisashi Iwakuma is expected to come off the DL for Seattle today as they take on the Tigers. Iwakuma could get a rude welcome from a tough Detroit lineup including Ian Kinsler who is 9-23 (.391) against Iwakuma in his career with a double and three home runs. With Miguel Cabrera sidelined, look for Kinsler and the rest of the Tigers lineup to step up to fill the void.

8. Brandon Crawford-SS-San Francisco Giants: Crawford and the Giants host New York to start the week and will face Jonathon Niese at AT&T Park tonight.  Crawford is 5-12 (.417) against Niese in his career with a triple, a home run, and five RBI.
