Mo Williams is heading home to Cleveland.

Things are quickly falling into place for the Cleveland Cavaliers this offseason. The team’s latest acquisition is free agent point guard Mo Williams. According to reports, the Cavs have agreed to a deal that will pay the veteran point guard $4.3 million over the course of two seasons. Williams will have a player option in the second season.

The Hitman announced the news on Twitter on Monday night, and according to him this move is all about the hardware – we’re talking #QuestForARing status.

Williams spent two and a half seasons with Cleveland between 2009-11. His first year with the team was one of the best in his career (17.8 points, 4.1 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game), and he played an integral role on a squad that made it all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals. For his career Williams averages around 13 points, 5 assists and 3 rebounds per contest.

With the deal in place with Williams, Cleveland is now seemingly one step away from fully solidifying its backcourt. The team brought Iman Shumpert back, to the tune of 4 years, $40 million, and has stated its desire to re-sign restricted free agent Matthew Dellavedova. Cleveland’s backcourt was perilously thin last offseason, and was exposed after Kyrie Irving went down in the Finals. Between Williams and Dellavedova, that gives the Cavs two able-bodied guards to chew minutes and take the load off Irving.
