Clint Dempsey made sure that the United States Men’s National Team will be advancing in the Gold Cup, as if that wasn’t evident already

So, the United States Men’s National Team went in to the Gold Cup quarterfinal against Cuba on Saturday just hoping they could advance. Well, what ended up happening was a massacre the likes of which we haven’t seen in quite some time from this squad, and of course, Clint Dempsey had a lot to do with that.

Dempsey got things started off in a big way on Saturday, nailing in a header just four minutes into the match. In the second half, he was awarded a penalty kick, which of course he banged in with ease.

From that point, you can just feel that the hat trick was coming. Well, it did…

That right there gave the USMNT a 6-0 lead and basically ensured that there would be an advancement in the tournament for this squad. This was one of the best performances that Clint Dempsey has ever put on and this team now just seems ready to take this title when all is in the books.
