We’re now right in the middle of the Major League Baseball trading frenzy here at the end of July, and one of the moves that we saw made recently was the Boston Red Sox sending Shane Victorino to the Los Angeles Angels. It was a move that, given how Victorino has performed recently, was necessary to make. But that doesn’t mean that’s it’s an easy one.

While the veteran has only been with the Red Sox since the 2013 season, he seemed to love where he was and the loyal Red Sox fans took to him pretty easily as well. So, it’s tough for both parties to leave one another.

In a press conference, Victorino discussed his departure from Boston and he got pretty emotional about it all.

To further show how emotional he is about the move, he also posted this:

Again, the “Flyin’ Hawaiian” wasn’t a member of the Red Sox for all that long, but it’s pretty clear that in the short time he was there, it became like a second home to him.

Now, though, he’ll be playing a little closer to home with the Angels.
