Arizona Wildcats head coach Rich Rodriguez has been pretty successful during his tenure in Tucson, which is not something a lot of people can say about his tenure as head coach of the Michigan Wolverines. If anything, some people go out of their way to say that the Rich-Rod experiment in Ann Arbor was a complete failure.

Well, we know that Rodriguez doesn’t actually think this himself, as he’s stated before that he really wasn’t given a fair shake as the coach of one of the most prominent programs in college football history. As a matter of fact, he’s not all that shy about letting people know that. On Wednesday, he was at it again, as he took a pretty stiff jab at the Wolverines.

When asked about the differences between his time at Michigan and his current stint at Arizona, Rich-Rod had this to say:

Whether you think that he was a failure at Michigan or not, the fact of the matter is that he’s kinda right in this regard. Rodriguez wasn’t really given a fair chance to succeed as the head coach of Michigan and that was pretty evident from Day 1. There were people who didn’t want the innovative coach and his fast-paced style in Ann Arbor, and ultimately he was more or less doomed from the start.

On the other hand, people at Arizona have embraced him from the very beginning and last season the Wildcats made it all the way to the Pac-12 Championship Game, taking the South Division in the process.
