With Matt Kenseth winning the Windows 10 400, how do the Sprint Cup Standings shake out?

At this point this late into the season, the only thing to pay attention to in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Standings, is whether or not Kyle Busch can crack the top-30 and break on into “The Chase” and have that opportunity to compete for a Sprint Cup Championship.

For 159 1/2 laps of 160 on Sunday, Kyle Busch was in that top-30 and looked like he was on his way to a win and a spot in “The Chase.” Instead, the celebration was put on hold as Busch, along with many other drivers ran out of fuel on the 2.5 mile track.

While drivers like Kenseth don’t have to worry about the points because they already have wins to seal their spot, Busch missed a majority of the beginning of the season, and has to meet the rules of the medical-exemption he received. After falling 20 spots after running out of gas, Busch now sits in 32nd, where he began the day. He is 13 points out of 30th, and should get there, but today was a big lesson in taking risks for Kyle and the rest of the No. 18 team.

Pocono definitely helped shake things up a bit, and now the landscape of the season has changed going forward. With Matt Kenseth winning, and Kyle Busch falling short, here are the updated Sprint Cup Standings after the Windows 10 400.
