With under a month remaining until the start of the college football regular season, fans around the country are getting restless.

Fortunately, we have hype videos to tide us over until then. The latest video comes courtesy of Texas Tech ahead of somewhat of a crossroads season in Lubbock.

The theme for the video is “fearless,” which the Red Raiders will need to emulate against an intimidating schedule. In particular, a three-game stretch beginning in late September against Arkansas, TCU and Baylor that could get ugly.

Third-year head coach Kilff Kingsbury will have to deal with that schedule in a season that is crucial to his future in Texas Tech. Kingsbury went 8-5 in his debut season in Lubbock, which included an impressive win over Arizona State in the Holiday Bowl, before regressing to 4-8 last season.

Texas Tech promises to be exciting this season either way. The air raid offense looks ready to fire on all cylinders thanks to two promising quarterbacks in Davis Webb and Patrick Mahomes, good pieces at the skill positions and plenty of experience up front.

Once again, the issue will be improving a defense that was awful last season. Still, there’s some hope with a new coordinator in David Gibbs and some talent in the secondary. The Red Raiders won’t have the defense to be great in 2015, but they could take a step forward and reach bowl eligibility.

If Kingsbury can get to six or seven wins, he can build some momentum for the future. Another 4-8 season would leave many questioning if he is the right coach for the long-term in Lubbock.
