The series to watch in Major League Baseball this week.

Every week the folks at Sports Illustrated and ScoreBig get together to rank the most watchable series to watch during the week for Major League Baseball in a feature called the “Watchability Rankings.”

The series to watch this week are as follows:

  • Cubs vs. Pirates, Aug. 3–5
  • Red Sox vs. Yankees, Aug. 4–6
  • Dodgers vs. Pirates, Aug. 7–9
  • Blue Jays vs. Yankees, Aug. 7–9
  • Orioles vs. Angels, Aug. 7–9

The Cubs vs. Pirate series takes the cake for the series to watch if you had to pick one. They’re in second and third place in the National League central division and a lot is riding on this series with a few games separating the two teams.

They’re also currently the top two teams in the race for the Wild Card spots. This could be a series highlighting a race for October duel in September.

Aside from those series, there is another interesting matchup to take notice off. On Tuesday night two of the American League’s best pitchers will face off when the Chicago White Sox and Tampa Bay Rays play, Chris Sale vs. Chris Archer.

Both players are candidates to win the Cy Young and if you watch just one game this week, and don’t mind a pitcher’s duel, this is the game to tune in and watch.
