The St. Louis Cardinals have the best record in baseball. Here is why their regular season success will translate to the team’s 12th World Series victory.

Major League Baseball is experiencing its longest 100-win season drought since the 1983. After 100-win seasons became commonplace during the late 1990s and early 2000s, there have only been three in the past decade.

The St. Louis Cardinals are on pace to become the first team since the 2011 Philadelphia Phillies to accomplish the feat. If they keep up their current level of play, though, regular season accomplishments will be of little concern. This team is primed for a World Series run.

At 73-41, the Cardinals lead the National League Central by six games, and hold the best record in all of baseball by five. They are essentially a lock to make the playoffs at this point.

A major concern for the postseason, though, will be the overall depth of the National League. Including St. Louis, six teams currently have a better record than the second-place team in the American League, the Toronto Blue Jays.

If any team can survive the treacherous path through the National League and advance to the World Series unscathed, however, it is the St. Louis Cardinals.

Here are five reasons why they will win it all in 2015.
