UFC 193 is set for Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia in mid-November.

Fight fans were excited at the prospect of Conor McGregor vs. Jose Aldo and Ronda Rousey vs. Miesha Tate III taking place in the 100,000 seat AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Dec. 5. The idea was squashed when the UFC announced McGregor vs. Aldo will take place at UFC 194 on Dec. 12 in Las Vegas. Do not be disappointed though, a UFC stadium show is taking place in 2015.

It was announced on Wednesday that UFC 193 will be taking place on Nov. 15 (Nov. 14 in United States) from the Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia. The main event of the show will be Robbie Lawler defending the welterweight title against former interim welterweight champ Carlos Condit. In the co-feature featuring a rematch of perhaps the greatest heavyweight fight of all-time, Mark Hunt will face Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva. In other action, perennial middleweight contender Michael Bisping squares off against Australian Robert Whittaker.

“Finally the UFC is coming to Melbourne in what will be the biggest UFC event EVER!” UFC president Dana White said in a press release. “There’s been a lot of talk about Melbourne, title fights and stadium shows. The UFC is doing all three at the Etihad Stadium in front of 70,000 people. Australia has been an amazing market for the UFC and to thank the Aussies for all of their support we are bringing the superstar of the welterweight division, UFC World Champion Robbie Lawler.  He will be facing the always-exciting “Natural Born Killer” Carlos Condit. Robbie Lawler is coming off of the most exciting title defense in welterweight history. We are also bringing the rematch of the greatest heavyweight fight I have ever seen between New Zealand legend Mark Hunt vs. Big Foot Silva. November 15 is going to be insane!”

Etihad Stadium has a capacity of 56,000 seats but seated over 70,000 people for the 2014 International Convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses. The arena can hold events with the roof open or closed.
