LeBron James is over in Manila to help spread the gospel of the NBA, and he’s doing a fantastic job of that.

The NBA routinely holds events around the globe during the offseason in an effort to grow its brand and spread the word of basketball to countries that usually don’t get  immersive spotlight. There is perhaps no brighter spotlight to shine on a nation than LeBron James, and that’s what happening in Manila right now. The Cavaliers star is in the Philippines right now and he proceeded to put on a show last night during an exhibition game.

It wasn’t just that LeBron was there, it was that he went ahead and put on an impromptu dunk contest that wowed the fans and the players who were watching the best basketball player in the world do his thing.

Naturally, LeBron James put on a show for the crowd in Manila and threw down some seriously fantastic dunks.

What’s a dunk contest in which you don’t throw the ball to yourself off the backboard?

Sometimes it’s just too easy being LeBron, like when you have a wide open lane to the basket and crush a dunk with relative ease. It’s almost like the defenders wanted to see a dunk so badly they just let LeBron past them.

The nicest touch of the whole dunk contest that wasn’t actually a dunk contest, was the flamethrower set up to go off every time LeBron threw down a monster jam.

He may not be flashy or in your face like some superstars, but when LeBron wants to put on a show, you had better buckle up for one hell of a night.
