Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant gives Taylor Swift a banner at the Staples Center after she set the record for sold out shows.

Kobe Bryant knows a thing or two about championship banners after helping the Los Angeles Lakers raise five over the course of his career, which still isn’t over. During Taylor Swift’s concert at the Staples Center, Bryant joined the popstar on stage to gift her a banner in the rafters of her own.

Swift set the record for most sold out shows at the Staples Center with 16, coincidentally the same number of championships the Lakers have, as Bryant points out in the video below.

Here is the banner being unveiled to Swift.

It makes you wonder if this banner will hang permanently, or till the record is broken, or if it will meet the same fate as the banner the WWE raised for Hulk Hogan in Madison Square Garden. That banner was removed in a matter of a few days, which in hindsight might have been a blessing in disguise given all the bad press Hogan has received for his insensitve remarks.

Here are more shots of Swift’s banner and the unveiling at the Staples Center.
