Auburn linebacker Deshaun Davis made his own hype video for the 2015 season and it ain’t half bad.

It’s almost football season, which means that it’s nearly the end of hype video season. This is a bittersweet period of transition each year, as the offseason hype videos help guide us along through the long, hot, barren summer. Alas, once September hits it’s time to flip the switch from longing to action. Hype becomes reality.

Before we fully cast off this year’s crop, check out what quite possibly may be the best hype video of the offseason (ever?). Auburn Tigers redshirt freshman Deshaun Davis conjured up a rap and produced a video for his team’s 2015 campaign. Somewhat surprisingly, the jam isn’t that bad.

The beat goes pretty hard, and the hook is reminiscent of Afro Man with the half-funny, half-not baritone croon. Dude hardly takes a breath and fires bars like he’s a Gatling gun. And how can you not like him shouting out all the greats (love the Cadillac footage), as well as pretty much every player on the roster. The shot of Nick Saban tossing his hat was a solid touch, as well.

The Takeover needs to be thumping at every single Auburn tailgate this year. Deshaun Davis is proud of his school and the program’s history. Kid should be a fan favorite for his entire stint in The Plains. That’s how you do a hype video.

Auburn’s takeover begins Saturday, September 5 against the Louisville Cardinals at the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game inside the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
