According to a report, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Tim Tebow has a very good chance of making the team.

Get ready football fans, it looks like the Tim Tebow experience is coming to the regular season this year.

According to a report from NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, it’s looking like Tim Tebow has a “very good chance” of making the Philadelphia Eagles.

When the Eagles signed Tim Tebow, it looked like this would be the last chance for Tebow to make an NFL roster. Now it looks like he’s going to get his shot in Philadelphia to show what he can do. With one more preseason game left, Tebow is battling Matt Barkley for the final spot on the Eagles roster.

In three preseason games, Tebow has thrown for 97 yards on 10 of 19 passing with no touchdowns and no interceptions. While his passing yards don’t jump off the page, his legs could make him a weapon for Chip Kelly in the evolving offensive game in the NFL.

Tebow can run the read-option that Kelly likes, and can be a dynamic weapon in the new extra-point format that could see a lot more teams going for two rather than kicking an extra point from 33 yards. Consider this, would you rather kick an extra point in the terrible winter weather in Philadelphia? Or would you rather take your chances with a quarterback who could make the smart decision on the goalline and power his way into the endzone if needed?

The way that the NFL is played is changing, and for Tebow that could serve to his benefit whereas he struggled with strictly being a passing quarterback. His best games as a member of the Denver Broncos came when he was making moves with his legs.

In Philadelphia, he’s behind Sam Bradford and Mark Sanchez at quarterback, but he’s so versatile in what he can do and such a unique player that he can be used to the Eagles advantage in those aforementioned extra point situations and read-option plays.

It looked like a long shot to begin with, but now as the cut from 75 players to 53 looms, it appears that Tim Tebow could very well end up one of the final players on the Philadelphia Eagles roster.
