With the College Football season just around the corner, here’s a look at the year we might see in the ACC

The ACC is one of the premier conferences in all of college football, and we should be in for another exciting campaign for them in 2015. Over the course of the past few seasons, the ACC has not failed to produce some excitement.

Last season was yet another eventful year for the ACC, as they placed a team in the first ever College Football Playoff. The defending national champion Florida State Seminoles went undefeated in the regular season for the second year in a row and captured their third consecutive conference title. With that, they earned themselves the No. 3 seed in the Playoff, where they lost to No. 2 seed Oregon in the Rose Bowl, 59-20. It was not the way they nor the conference wanted to see the season end, but it was still an admirable accomplishment nonetheless.

To further show how deep the conference is, there were two other teams in the bowl season that made some pretty definitive statements with some convincing wins. Clemson went into their Russell Athletic Bowl match up against Oklahoma and absolutely obliterated them, 40-6. It was a nice way to end the campaign for a team with some high expectations coming into 2015.

Then we have the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets who were given the bigger stage, and they delivered also. Going into the Orange Bowl against Mississippi State, not many gave them a puncher’s chance. But when it was all said and done, they routed the Bulldogs 49-34, and believe me, the game was not as close as the score suggests. Georgia Tech went into Miami and had their way with one of the best teams in the SEC.

Yes, 2014 was a year in which the ACC proved once again that they have some competitors among their bunch and can make some noise on the national landscape. Whether or not they can replicate success like this in 2015 remains to be seen.

Before we take a stab at some predictions, here’s a look at the entire ACC slate for the 2015 college football season. To enlarge the schedule, just click on the image.
