Here’s a look at the seven college football teams at risk of having disappointing seasons in 2015

The wait is finally over; the 2015 college football season is about to begin. Soon we will be spending our Saturdays grilling and tailgating and rationalizing cracking open beers before noon. You can keep your winter holidays: college football season is the true most wonderful time of the year.

As much as there is to celebrate, some fans should ready themselves for disappointment and frustration this fall. Fortune can be fickle in the world of college football, and there are a handful of teams coming off strong 2014 campaigns now facing the likely possibility of down years in 2015.

This here slideshow will, in no particular order, take a look at seven of those teams. Whether due to coaching changes or player graduations (or both), all these teams will be hard-pressed to replicate the successes they achieved last season. Will they immediately spiral down into shameful mediocrity? Unlikely. But their respective fans should be prepared to see a few more entries in the loss column than they saw last year.

All that said, there is the possibility that these predictions of backsliding will prove wildly incorrect and four of these seven teams will wind up competing in the College Football Playoff when January comes around, in which case you can send me any crow you’d like me to eat (you have to pay for shipping and handling, though).

To begin, let’s take a look at the team with the jerseys that make you wish television never evolved from black and white.
