TCU QB Trevone Boykin scores nice rushing TD vs. Minnesota (Video)
TCU QB Trevone Boykin showed off his elite speed in tonight’s game against Minnesota.
TCU QB Trevone Boykin has always been known more for his speed than his arm. He came into tonight’s game with 1,437 career rushing yards with 18 touchdowns at TCU. Last season was his best on the ground, as he put up 707 yards with 8 TDs.
Boykin’s TCU squad is taking on Minnesota at TCF Bank Stadium this evening and the senior QB was at it again with this very nice rushing TD.
Boykin charged 19 yards to the end zone with ease. Not a single Minnesota Gopher could get a finger on him as he put up six points for the no. 2 ranked team in the nation. This increased their lead to 17-3 after the successful extra point conversion.
This run could be the first of many for Boykin as he looks to lead TCU to the College Football Playoff for the first time. The Horned Frogs barely missed out on being one of the four teams in for the inaugural CFB Playoff due to their schedule.
Tonight is also the beginning of Boykin trying to get himself into the Heisman Trophy race. If he can do what he did last year and put up over 4,000 yards in passing and rushing combined, couple with TCU having another great year, then he may be on his way to winning some hardware in December.
