Keys to Victory

Auburn QB Jeremy Johnson will be making his season debut with his third-ever career start after hype reached a fever pitch this summer. While a victory for Auburn shouldn’t be difficult, all eyes will be on Johnson to see if he will live up to expectations. The main strength of the Louisville squad is their defense, comprised of a strong combination of veteran talent and guys new to the team under the leadership of former Georgia coordinator Todd Grantham. Auburn is no slouch on defense either, though, especially with the return from injury of defensive end Carl Lawson.

Betting Odds

Point Spread: Auburn by 10.5

Moneyline: Auburn -425; Louisville +355

O/U: 58

Prediction

Head coach Bobby Petrino and Louisville would love to pull off an upset, but Auburn  is too strong of a team with too much to lose with a slip up against a much weaker opponent in the first game of the season. The combination of Auburn’s Jeremy Johnson and receiver Duke Williams will be too much for Louisville to overcome.

Final Score: Auburn will come out on top 28-10
