McNeese State Bulldogs vs. LSU Tigers

The McNeese State Cowboys get their 2015 football season underway at Tiger Stadium this Saturday, as they head to Baton Rouge, La. for a matchup with the LSU Tigers. LSU is looking to rebound from a disappointing 2014 campaign. The Tigers went 8-5 last season, tying the worst record of head coach Les Miles‘ decade at the helm of the program.

The biggest problem was their passing game, or lack thereof. LSU ranked last in the SEC and 116th in the country in the country in passing yards per game in 2014, something that should change with sophomore quarterback Brandon Harris under center. Sophomore running back Leonard Fournette will be the focal point a high powered rushing attack while trying to make a solid first impression on Heisman voters.

Junior linebacker Kendell Beckwith and junior cornerback Tre’Davious White will lead the defense, as defensive coordinator Kevin Steele and defensive line coach Ed Orgeron look to make a statement in their first game with the Tigers.

McNeese State will lean on senior quarterback Daniel Sams to prevent this game from getting out of hand. Sams is a dual-threat quarterback who transferred from Kansas State in 2014. Texas A&M transfer Isaiah Golden will be a potential impact player on the defensive line.

The game will be televised on the SEC Network alternate channel, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. Live streaming will be available via Watch ESPN.
