Cowboys trading for Seahawks RB Christine Michael
By Mike Dyce
The Dallas Cowboys traded a conditional draft pick to the Seattle Seahawks for running back Christine Michael.
The Dallas Cowboys are still trying to sort out life after running back DeMarco Murray, who led the league in rushing last season. They brought in Darren McFadden to see if he could find new life post-Oakland Raiders.
The Cowboys are still looking for the answer and they made a move on Sunday after the final roster cut day of the preseason. The Cowboys traded a conditional draft pick to the Seattle Seahawks for running back Christine Michael.
Michael played college football in Texas so it is a home coming of sorts.
Now Michael hasn’t really developed any notable stats during his time in the NFL, he was behind an absolute monster in Marshawn Lynch with the Seahawks. What makes this move particularly interesting for the Cowboys is Michael’s efficiency per carry.
Over two seasons, Michael has carried the ball 52 times for 254 yards, an average of 4.9 yards per carry. Behind the Cowboys’ dominant offensive line, Michael could continue those numbers and he could clearly get more opportunities as he integrates himself into the system.
