The NFC East might be one of the most underwhelming divisions in the NFL right now. The Dallas Cowboys have been tossed into disarray after injuries to star players like quarterback Tony Romo and wide receiver Dez Bryant, and their Super Bowl aspirations seem to have vanished just two weeks into the season.

The New York Giants are underperforming, the Philadelphia Eagles have been a disappointment, and the Washington Redskins are still themselves.

This downslide for the NFC East hasn’t hindered their jersey sales, however. According to DICK’s Sporting Goods’ Jersey Report, three NFC East teams are in the top-six in jersey sales across the league since the draft.

Those three teams are the Cowboys, Eagles and Giants, all teams who had high expectations heading into the season.

The Giants are the third-ranked team in terms of sales for the season, and the top-selling NFC East team. The Giants account for 34 percent of the sales in the division.

The Eagles, who are a horrendous 0-2 and looked dreadful against the Cowboys in Week 2, are the No. 4 bestselling team this year. In the NFC East they account for 29 percent of team jersey sales.

The Eagles also benefit from turnover on their roster. Quarterback Nick Foles and running back LeSean McCoy left during the offseason, replaced by Sam Bradford and DeMarco Murray, not to mention the addition of linebacker Kiko Alonso. Eagles fans needed to update their jersey collections this year.

The Cowboys, America’s Team and national media darlings, are ranked No. 6 in sales. A surprising third-place finish in the NFC East, many would’ve expected they’d be leading the division in team jersey sales. The Cowboys narrowly beat the Eagles and account for 27 percent of divisional sales.

The Cowboys, unlike the Eagles, didn’t have turnover on their roster to help fuel sales. The Cowboys offensive core is the same stars it was last season and for years, Romo, Bryant and tight end Jason Witten.

If you’re curious, the Redskins, who are the 16th ranked team in team jersey sales, account for 10 percent of the NFC East’s sales. Could be all the Robert Griffin III jerseys hitting the clearance racks.
