While the Miami Dolphins are not off to the greatest start this season, they’re still ahead of the New York Jets in jersey sales

Before the 2015 NFL season began, there were many folks that chose the Miami Dolphins to maybe be a contender in the AFC East. At the same time, there were folks that were not optimistic about the New York Jets, especially when they lost their starting quarterback before the season even began.

But, through three weeks of the season thus far, things are actually going the exact opposite direction. The Dolphins are currently 1-2 on the year and are coming off getting embarrassed by the Buffalo Bills at home, while the Jets are off to a surprising 2-1 start to the year. Even with this being the case, though, the Dolphins are still taking it to the Jets in one department — jersey sales.

According to the DICK’S Sporting Goods Jersey Report, which reflects sales both nationwide and online, the Dolphins as a team come in at No. 17 in the rankings, while the Jets are a few spots behind them at No. 22.

Here’s a look at the entire AFC East.

What’s helping the Dolphins, you may ask? Well, that ball is being carried by Ryan Tannehill, whose jersey is sitting at No. 27 at the moment among the individual players. Defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh is also bringing in some strong sales, ranking No. 49 for individual players and within the top-10 among all defensive players.

It should also be mentioned that rookie wide receiver Devante Parker is giving a boost as well, as he comes in at No. 10 among all the rookies in the NFL this season.

It’ll be quite interesting to watch the rest of the year whether or not the Jets could catch up to the Dolphins in jersey sales, especially if each team stays on the respective paths they’re on.
