The Cincinnati Bengals ran their record to 4-0 on Sunday afternoon at Paul Brown Stadium, beating the Kansas City Chiefs, 36-21. Cincinnati was able to move the football without issue all day, torching a Chiefs defense that appeared to be moving in slow motion.

Kansas City was able to rack up 437 total yards, but never reached the end zone. The Chiefs had to settle for seven field goals out of second-year kicker Cairo Santos, who set a franchise record on the day. Cincinnati was able to gain yardage both up top and on the ground, going for 321 yards passing and 121 yards rushing.

Highlights

Three Stars

1. Andy Dalton

Dalton continues to look like a changed quarterback. Dalton completed 17-of-24 for the aforementioned 321 yards and a touchdown. Dalton went deep multiple times while being able to move the chains on third down. Cincinnati scored 36 points and likely could have had more, if not for a missed field goal and the offense throttling down late.

2. Alex Smith

Smith has taken a ton of criticism in recent weeks, but he was terrific despite taking a pounding with five sacks. For the first time since coming to Kansas City, Smith threw for more than 300 yards, hitting on 31-of-45 throws for 376 yards and no interceptions. His main target was Jeremy Maclin, who caught 11 passes for 148 yards.

3. A.J. Green

Green was absolutely unstoppable throughout the first half. The Pro Bowler went for seven catches and 82 yards, setting a tone that lasted throughout the afternoon. Green was used both out wide and in the slot, beating rookie Marcus Peters and Ron Parker.

Odds

The Bengals were favored by four points and covered the spread.

Next Week

The Bengals will stay at home and take on the Seattle Seahawks, while the Chiefs finally go back to Arrowhead Stadium to play the Chicago Bears.
