Marshawn Lynch injury update: Seahawks RB unlikely to play Monday
The Seattle Seahawks will likely be without Marshawn Lynch on Monday Night Football
Marshawn Lynch is dealing with a hamstring injury heading into the Seattle Seahawks’ Monday Night Football matchup with the Detroit Lions. He’s listed as questionable on the injury report, but the way things are shaping up makes it seem like the enigmatic running back most likely will not be in action on Monday night.
Lynch has not yet been ruled out of action and the word is that Pete Carroll and the Seahawks will let Lynch make the decision at game-time. However, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com is saying that people “shouldn’t count on” Lynch being in action for Seattle:
The Seahawks are trying to climb back into contention in the NFC after a shocking 0-2 start to the season. Lynch had been a big part of their early struggles, managing just 3.4 yards per carry thus far on the year and not yet finding his way into the endzone. However, he’s still a dangerous weapon that would have been huge for Seattle through this important stretch.
Thomas Rawls and Fred Jackson will likely split the duties in the backfield if Lynch indeed is out on Monday night, which fantasy owners have to be bitter about as there’s no clear handcuff. Outside of that, though, the Seahawks should be able to piece together something in their rushing attack with those two backs, especially against Detroit.
