The referees in the Miami Dolphins vs. New York Jets game missed one of the more obvious pass interference calls in recent memory.

The New York Jets have been all over the Miami Dolphins today during the NFL’s return to London. They’ve totaled over 175 yards rushing and have kept every aspect of the Dolphins offense in check for most of the day. However, a bizarre play happened a little past the game’s halfway mark.

In the third quarter, the Jets were continuing to drive down the field. Ryan Fitzpatrick attempted a heave of a pass down field to wideout Devin Smith. The ball seemingly stayed up in the air for an eternity, so long that the Dolphins defensive back Zack Bowman lowered his shoulder into Smith, knocking him down to pick the ball off.

No defensive pass interference? Not even some type of call to give the Jets some yards?

Well, luckily for the Jets, the interception did not hurt them since they were up 27-7 at the time. The Dolphins weren’t able to do anything on the drive but did record a touchdown a few possessions later to make the score 27-14 in the 4th quarter.
