The Kansas City Chiefs were expected by many to not only compete in the AFC, but perhaps make a run at the Super Bowl. The Chicago Bears had no such expectations in the NFC, and yet both teams find themselves in the same spot at 1-3.

Still, Vegas clearly believes in the Chiefs and not the Bears, favoring Kansas City by 10 points this Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium. The over/under is set at 45, according to OddsShark.

Kansas City has lost three consecutive games, all to teams that remain undefeated. The Chiefs have been absolutely terrible on defense, despite having one of the most talented units in the league with Eric Berry, Justin Houston, Dontari Poe, Marcus Peters, Ron Parker, Derrick Johnson and Sean Smith. The offensive line has also been deplorable, allowing a league-high 18 sacks through the first four games of the season.

Meanwhile, Chicago’s defense has also been terrible. General manager Ryan Pace does not seem concerned about the team’s record this year, trading off middle linebacker Jonathan Bostic and defensive end Jared Allen for draft picks. The Bears are getting healthier, though, with the returns of receiver Alshon Jeffrey and quarterback Jay Cutler last week. Not coincidentally, Chicago won its first game last week against the Oakland Raiders on a game-winning Robbie Gould field goal.

The Chiefs are 3-7 both straight up and against the spread in their last 10 games, while the Bears are 3-6 straight up over their prior nine games. The trends are minimal in this game, but consider the following: Kansas City is 6-2 ATS in its last eight home dates, while Chicago is 1-4 ATS in its previous five road games.
