Klay Thompson threw a massive amount of shade at the Clippers

The Golden State Warriors enter the 2015-16 NBA season as the reigning champions. As the top dogs in the league heading into this season, they obviously have a target on their back. Los Angeles Clippers head coach Doc Rivers made that clear a couple of weeks ago when he said that the Warriors “were lucky” that they didn’t face the Clippers in the postseason.

Speaking with the media on Friday, Warriors star guard Klay Thompson finally delivered a response to Rivers’ comments and he didn’t hold back in the slightest. Thompson started by just pointing out that the matchup could’ve happened if the Clippers had, you know, won enough to get there:

After making that point, Klay wasn’t done. He threw salt on the wound by pointing out that the Clippers lost their series with the Houston Rockets, the winner of which faced the Warriors, by blowing a 3-1 series lead:

It’s pretty clear that Thompson and the Warriors aren’t concerned with what other teams around the league think. They were the best team in the league last season and are holding themselves like a team planning on earning that title this year as well.

And if you want to take shots at Golden State, be prepared for Klay Thompson to throw massive levels of shade your way.
