It appears that Marshawn Lynch will be back in action this week for the Seahawks

Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch is rumored to be close to returning after sitting out against the Detroit Lions with a hamstring injury. The official Seahawks website confirmed that Lynch is on the verge of playing again, as he has had time to recover from his injury since suffering it in Week 3 against the Chicago Bears.

However, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll would not promise that the All-Pro running back will play against the Cincinnati Bengals.

“He’s working at it. He got a little bit of work on Thursday at practice and got a chance to run around a little bit. He’s really close, but it’s a hamstring that’s been strained, so it takes a couple of weeks for that to really be gone,” Carroll said.

Lynch is expected to be a game-time decision, but the Bengals will undoubtedly be preparing for a Seahawks offense with Lynch. The Seahawks will be looking for a statement win on Sunday, which they will have a golden opportunity to do since the Bengals have a 4-0 record.

Meanwhile, the Seahawks are coming off a narrow win over the 0-4 Detroit Lions after safety Kam Chancellor saved the game by forcing wide receiver Calvin Johnson to fumble near the end zone. Lynch will provide another dimension that the Seahawks offense desperately needs, as quarterback Russell Wilson struggled at times against the Lions by fumbling twice and losing each of them.

The Seahawks running back has also experienced his fair share of struggles throughout the 2015 season, as he has never rushed for more than 73 yards in a game this year. The Seahawks offense has sputtered throughout the season as a result, and they will face a difficult task in overcoming a Bengals defense on the road.
