If you wear LeBron James’ shoes when you play against him, he’ll beat your ass.

When you’re a superstar athlete you get endorsements, the most coveted of which is a shoe deal for NBA athletes. Cleveland Cavaliers star and undisputed greatest player on the planet LeBron James has his own line of popular shoes with Nike.

While they’re incredibly popular, if you play in the NBA it is probably best that you don’t wear them against him.

“When I was a kid, and I used to see guys wear [Michael Jordan]’s shoes when they played against MJ, I was like, ‘Oh MJ’s got a little mental edge over those guys,'” James said in an interview with GQ.

“So for me, now that I’m in MJ class … If you’re just a guy who just like goes to Foot Locker or somewhere, you just go get a pair of ‘Brons and wear them on a Tuesday night vs. me, I’ma bust your ass. Straight up.”

James’ story about Jordan’s mental edge over the opponents is legitimate to a certain degree. It might not have given him a mental edge, but he definitely used it to trash talk his opponents. Kendall Gill told a story about his teammate with the Nets, Jim Jackson, who was off to a hot start and trash talking Michael Jordan.

Jordan responded with” “You know, you’re talking a lot of stuff to have my shoes on.”

It’s going up…. on a Tuesday.
