The LSU Tigers have made a nice gesture to make the South Carolina Gamecocks feel at home in Tiger Stadium this Saturday.

The South Carolina Gamecocks are playing a home game this weekend, but it will not be taking place at Williams-Brice Stadium.

Due to massive flooding in the Columbia, S.C. area, South Carolina’s matchup with LSU this Saturday has been relocated to Tiger Stadium.

While the Gamecocks will be playing roughly 700 miles from their campus, the LSU athletic department is doing all it can to make their opponent feel like home at arguably the most feared stadium in college football. The picture below illustrates just one of the several kind gestures made from the Tigers to South Carolina.

This is not the only gesture made to accommodate their SEC opponent in the midst of a devastating tragedy brought on by Hurricane Joaquin.

The LSU band has learned how to play the Gamecocks’ fight songs and their alma mater “We Hail Thee Carolina.” All ticket proceeds, minus cost to LSU, will go to the South Carolina  athletic department. And in a special touch, “Sandstorm” will play on the loudspeakers before the opening kickoff, a South Carolina tradition. The Gamecocks will also be wearing their home jerseys.

Most importantly, though, The American Red Cross will be on hand at the game to collect water bottles and donations for the flood relief effort in South Carolina.

While Saturday may feel far from a home game playing in Death Valley, the Tigers are doing all they can to make their SEC brethren feel feel welcome this weekend.
