Another edition of one of the more heated rivalries college football took place with Florida State and Miami facing off

It didn’t take the Seminoles long to show that they were out for blood in this one. It also didn’t take long for everyone to see that Dalvin Cook was healthy and ready to go. On Florida State’s first drive, Everett Golson pitched to Cook on the option and he took that 72 yards to the house for the early 7-0 lead. Miami would add a field goal, but then it was time for Cook to strike again.

With under six minutes to go in the first quarter, Cook would haul in a 36-yard touchdown strike to put the ‘Noles up even more at that point, 14-3.

A field goal from Florida State in the second quarter would make the game 17-3, but then Miami woke up a bit. An amazing 58-yard touchdown grab from Rashawn Scott would pull things to 17-10 and have the Hurricanes right back in this one.

Florida State would add one more field goal before the half to take it to the locker room up 20-10 against Miami.

In the third quarter, Miami showed some more fight to get back into this one. With about five minutes to go in the third quarter, a one-yard Joseph Yearby touchdown catch would cut the Florida State lead to 20-17, making the faithful in Tallahassee quite uneasy.

Roberto Aguayo would add another field goal in the third, but Miami would really make a lot of people nervous from there. Stacy Coley would haul in a 29-yard touchdown catch with 10 minutes to go, giving Miami the 24-23 lead, stunning everyone in attendance in Tallahassee.

Then, it would be Dalvin Cook time once again.

With 6:44 to go in the final period, the man from Miami would gash the Canes once again, this time with a 23-yard scoring run to give Florida State the lead back at 29-24. The two-point conversion was missed.

Near a minute left in the game, Miami would have one more chance to make a comeback, but to no avail. Florida State has now won six in a row against rival Miami.
