If Prince is there watching, you’re obligated to love the WNBA Finals

Game 5 of the WNBA Finals between the Indiana Fever and Minnesota Lynx took place on Wednesday night, just the fourth Game 5 in the history of the WNBA Finals. The decisive game of the series was played in the Target Center in Minnesota, which brought out some big-named celebrities. Those in attendance included music and Minnesota legend Prince:

Prince being at anything automatically makes the event one of the coolest things on the planet. He could be at the worst IHOP in the world, and it becomes great because Prince is there:

However, he was at the WNBA Finals watching Maya Moore and the Lynx try and pull out a victory in the game and the series on their home floor. With that kind of drama, I can guarantee Prince’s reaction was far from this:

We know that because the immortal Prince loves him some basketball, NBA or WNBA makes no difference:

In the end, Prince got to see his hometown team secure the victory and the Lynx’s third title in the last five years. Moore and her teammates probably looked into Prince’s box and let him know whose game it was:

Then just like that, the WNBA Finals were over, the Lynx were champs, and it was time for Prince to go home:

If anyone ever tries to tell you that the WNBA isn’t real basketball or that it’s not the cool thing to watch, be sure to remind them of this night and Prince’s presence. That’s the trump card for everything.
