Robin Lopez is just running around aimlessly in the Knicks offense

The New York Knicks were arguably the worst team in the NBA last season, particularly after the All-Star break when Carmelo Anthony was shut down for the rest of the year with a knee injury. However, things have been looking up with a healthy Melo, the arrival of Kristaps Porzingis and center Robin Lopez for the 2015-16 season. Lopez’s arrival hasn’t gone totally perfect, though.

On Wednesday night as the Knicks took on the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Knicks were running the triangle offense quite well for most of the night. On one possession, however, they tried to insert some motion into the offense while Lopez was on the floor. Let’s just say that it did not go according to plan:

Lopez looks completely lost in the triangle on that play. He’s just running around like he has absolutely no idea what is going on. Part of that is because he doesn’t really have the speed to do what he’s trying to, but another part of that is just aimless running around in the offense.

It’s not all bad for Lopez and the Knicks as they picked up two wins out of their first four games and have been competitive against Cleveland. If they want that trend to continue, though, they might want to let Lopez know to have fewer plays like this one.
