The Dallas Stars are famous for trolling their opponents during home games. The Maple Leafs decided that they had enough and fought back.

The Dallas Stars and Toronto Maple Leafs are famous for having two of the snarkiest NHL team accounts on Twitter. They both love to act like trolls and engage in banter with other teams. When the Leafs and Stars faced each other on Tuesday night, they decided to have an epic Twitter war that transcended sports.

The state of Texas and the country of Canada recently squared off in the 2015 ALDS when the Toronto Blue Jays came back from a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Texas Rangers. There were some sour grapes from both sides and that rivalry is likely going to carry over into the next MLB season. The Stars fired the first shot at the Leafs.

This referenced Blue Jays fans throwing beer at a baby after a controversial run scored to give the Rangers the lead in game five. The Leafs decided that they weren’t going to take that, so they fired back.

Impressive comeback. The Maple Leafs referenced the now famous bat-flip by Jose Bautista that gave the Blue Jays the lead in game five that they wouldn’t surrender. The Stars decided to try to get the conversation back to the sport at hand.

The Leafs refused to cooperate with the Stars and their demands.

Sam Dyson is the pitcher that gave up the home run to Bautista, by the way. The Stars decided to call the Leafs integrity into question.

The Leafs ended the war with a resounding explosion that will never be forgotten.

The Dallas Stars tried to fight back with an emoji, but the Leafs TKO’ed the Stars with the “log out of Twitter”.

We’ll see who won the war on the ice. The Dallas Stars clearly lost the one on Twitter.
