Joe Flacco is out for the season and these five quarterbacks could be replacements in fantasy football

Joe Flacco led the Baltimore Ravens to victory over the St. Louis Rams in Week 11. However, the Ravens quarterback suffered an apparent knee injury on Baltimore’s final drive that hobbled him. It turned out to be the worst outcome for Flacco and the Ravens as he suffered a torn ACL on that final drive and will be out for the remainder of the 2015 season.

This obviously puts the Ravens in an extremely tough position, all things considered. They’re already in the midst of a tough season that has been worsened by injuries and this obviously amplifies that issue. If they had any hope of climbing into a wildcard race, then that seemingly goes out the window with Flacco’s injury. Matt Schaub will almost surely come in as Flacco’s replacement for the Ravens for the rest of the year.

However, if you happen to have Flacco on your fantasy football team, chances are that you aren’t going to want to brave the home-stretch of the season and even the playoffs by going at it with Schaub at quarterback. Subsequently, you’re going to be looking for a quarterback to pick up that can help you hold your position, make a run to get in the playoffs, and possibly even help take you to a fantasy football championship.

Obviously there a ton of quarterbacks that any fantasy player would love to have on their team. It’d be great if Tom Brady, Cam Newton, and Drew Brees were all readily available on the waiver wire or as a free agent, but that’s not going to be the case in virtually any league. Instead, you’re going to have to dig a little bit deeper.

Looking at potential replacements for Flacco on a fantasy roster, the safest way to go about it so that the majority of fantasy players to benefit is to look at players with less than 50 percent ownership percentage. Using ESPN.com’s fantasy football tools, the five possible replacements fit that criterion.

Of the five possible Flacco replacements that we’ll be looking at, there’s a mix of different types of players. There are a rookie that has come on strong lately, a couple of guys stuck on bad teams putting up decent stats, and a couple of quarterbacks with low-upside but also a high floor.

Keeping all of that in mind, these are five possible replacements for Flacco on your fantasy team:
