Cincinnati Bengals vs. Arizona Cardinals

Not many people thought the 8-0 Bengals would lose to the Houston Texans at home last week with backup quarterback T.J. Yates in the game for the injured Brian Hoyer, but that’s exactly what happened. It’s time for Andy Dalton and Co. to regroup and secure a huge road win yet again — the Bengals are 4-0 away from home in 2015.

Carson Palmer is on pace to have his best season as a pro quarterback and the Arizona Cardinals are flying pretty high right now after a big road win against the Seattle Seahawks a week ago. The 35-year-old quarterback can do no wrong as it seems like he’s only getting better with age.

Keys to Victory

Cincinnati Bengals

Andy Dalton will need to find a way to bounce back from the first loss of the year. Getting the passing attack back in order and trying to take on one of the best secondaries is not the best combination, but that’s how this team is going to win. Last week, the Bengals’ run game was solid behind Jeremy Hill and Giovani Bernard, but without a passing threat, the Texans were able to hold on to win.

Get A.J. Green the ball even though he’s going up against Patrick Peterson. Also, the veteran quarterback cannot forget that he has Tyler Eifert, one of the top tight ends in the league. Eifert needs to put last week’s bad game behind him as well since he had a couple of bad drops.

Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals can learn a lot about how to beat the Bengals just by watching last week’s game film between Houston and Cincinnati. The Texans swallowed up the Bengals’ receivers, holding Dalton to just 197 yards through the air, the worst mark for him on the season.

If Arizona can do what it has been doing all year by keeping opposing offenses in check through the air, then the Cardinals will have more than a decent shot to hand Cincinnati its second loss in a row. Defense will be the decider here as Carson Palmer will continue to be as reliable as any quarterback in the league.

Betting Odds

Point Spread: Cardinals -4.5
Moneyline: Cardinals -220, Bengals +190
O/U: 48.5

Prediction

Carson Palmer is going to have himself a day, throwing three touchdown passes and playing inspired football as his team is red-hot right now. Chris Johnson will be shut down by the Bengals’ defense a bit, but the offense won’t suffer at all. Dalton will have a nice comeback performance against a solid defense, but a late Arizona touchdown in the final minutes will seal the deal.

Final Score: Bengals 24, Cardinals 31
